The word next is defined as…what is coming immediately after. I picture kids standing in line
waiting for that one who was in front of them to complete their turn knowing that because of
the position that they are in line, they are NEXT! They are supposed to be the next one to take
the turn. They are properly positioned and have waited patiently. They did not jump in front of
anyone else. They have acted honorably, and they have waited well, therefore, they can expect
to be called upon to come forward. Then suddenly out of nowhere someone comes and
arrogantly pushes them out of the way, knocks them off their feet and steps forward in their
place. When this happens one of two things can take place. The one who has been placed in
charge to make sure things go according to plan can step forward and reprimand the one who
is taking something that is not his or hers to take or, they can let it play out knowing that it is
wrong. In the meantime, the honorable one is lying in a heap, and crying inside, “Is there
anyone who will make this right?”

Sometimes, and I will venture to say, many times we might find ourselves in the position of
knowing that we deserve something and still not get it! Our next eludes us and we feel rejected
and disillusioned. I wish that we did live in a world where things were just done right. But we
live in a sinful world, with people who have sinful natures and that means that a lot of times
wrong does seem to always win. But take heart and look up and hold onto the promises of the
Father! You may not have gotten it this time but your “NEXT” is closer than you think. I am
reminded that… “So we are convinced that every detail of our lives is continually woven together
to fit into God’s perfect plan of bringing good into our lives, for we are his lovers who have been
called to fulfill his designed purpose”. Romans 8:28 The Passion Translation (TPT)
Your ”NEXT” is on its way!
